CHAPTER XVI. ZONING AND PLANNINGCHAPTER XVI. ZONING AND PLANNING\ARTICLE 2. ZONING REGULATIONS

There is hereby adopted by the governing body of the city for the purpose of prescribing zoning regulations, that certain code known as “Zoning Ordinance for the City of Montezuma, Kansas,” prepared for the city by the planning commission, three copies of which code have been filed in the office of the city clerk having been marked “Official Copy as incorporated by Ordinance No. 344” and to which shall be attached a copy of the incorporating ordinance. The zoning regulations are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and from the date on which this ordinance shall take effect, the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the boundaries of the city.

There is hereby adopted as a comprehensive plan for land located outside the city but within three miles of the city boundary the requirements and use regulations that this area be restricted to agricultural uses and for all uses permitted in the R-1 Single Family Dwelling District.

There is hereby adopted by the governing body of the city for the purpose of defining the boundaries of zones or districts referred to in the zoning regulations adopted in section 16-201, a certain map marked “Official Copy of District Zoning Map as incorporated by Ordinance No. 344” and filed in the office of the city clerk of the city. The map shall be open to inspection and available to the public at all reasonable business hours. The map and all notations, references, and other information shown thereon shall be deemed to be part of this article by reference and shall have the same force and effect as if the map and all notations, references, and other information shown thereon were fully set forth or described herein.

Said zoning map has subsequently been revised by Ordinance No. 440, 451, 453 and 456.
